Worthy of Song and Story- A Review

This Viking era middle-grade book reminds me of the Percy Jackson books a little bit. It is a fast paced adventure where Stian, a twelve-year-old Viking finds out that he os Loki’s son. He meets a girl named Dahlia, a dark elf and they have an adventure trying to free Loki from Odin. You’d think these two were alive today based on the dialogue. I’m a bit of a stickler for time period appropriate language.

I think if you have a Viking crazy kid who can’t get enough of the genre it’s worth picking up at the library. It’s not one that I even passed on to my kids as I found it just OK and we are so backed up on must reads that I’m not feeling the need to squeeze it in.

I received a DRC of this title in exchange for an honest review.

What I would recommend instead would be The Magnus Chase series from Rick Riordan.
