Poetry for Kids: Walt Whitman

Another great resource for your Tea Time Poetry. We try and do that every Tuesday afternoon. We crack open some poetry and read out loud while eating something seasonally yummy and drinking tea (iced or hot depending on the weather)

This book includes 35 of Walt’s most accessible poems and a section entitled what was Walt thinking- which we enjoyed. We try and choose a favorite from each poetry book and this time it’s “O Captain! My Captain!” as it fits into our American History study this week.

This illustrated copy of the best of Walt Whitman proved to be a big hit at our house. I read it as a DRC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
